Chapter 2: The Son Who Already Knew

Chapter 2: The Son Who Already Knew

The corridor outside the ballroom was filled with guests arriving, laughing, unaware.

She pushed through them, breathless.

“Stop the wedding!” she shouted. “You don’t understand—something is wrong!”

People turned. Some frowned. Some laughed awkwardly, assuming panic or nerves.

But she saw him.

Her son.

Standing calmly at the end of the hall in a perfectly tailored suit.

Waiting.

Not surprised.

Not confused.

Just waiting.

She ran to him and grabbed his arms.

“I found something in the bridal suite,” she whispered urgently. “There’s a message. Someone is warning us. I think— I think she’s in danger.”

Her son looked at her for a long moment.

Then he spoke softly.

“I know.”

Her hands went cold.

“What do you mean, you know?”

He exhaled slowly, as if he had rehearsed this moment too many times.

“Mom… I saw the same message yesterday.”

The world tilted beneath her feet.

“You saw it… and you didn’t cancel the wedding?”

His expression didn’t change.

“No,” he said. “Because the wedding is not the problem.”

A pause.

Then, quietly:

“She is.”

Before she could react, the ballroom doors opened behind him.
