The nightclub fell into complete silence.
The music stopped.
Even the bartender froze with a bottle halfway in the air.
The young woman slowly wiped the cocktail from her face with a white silk handkerchief. There wasn't a trace of anger in her expression—only quiet disappointment.
She looked at the head of security.
"Mr. Harris."
The man immediately lowered his head.
"Yes, Ms. Bennett."
The socialite laughed loudly.
"You know her? Perfect. Throw her out before she ruins everyone's night."
Instead of obeying, Mr. Harris stepped aside.
Then, to everyone's shock, every member of the security team stood in a straight line and bowed.
"Good evening, Ms. Bennett."
The room gasped.
The woman in the soaked black dress was none other than Evelyn Bennett—the mysterious investor who owned Eclipse Club, the most exclusive nightclub in the city.
Very few people had ever seen her face.
She preferred working behind the scenes, allowing her management team to handle public appearances.
Tonight had been her first visit in nearly a year.
"I wanted to see how my guests were treated when they didn't look important," Evelyn said calmly.
Her eyes rested on the trembling socialite.
"I have my answer."
The woman finally realized something was terribly wrong.
"W-Wait... you're joking."
Evelyn smiled gently.
"I never joke about respect."
She turned toward the event organizer.
"Who invited Ms. Victoria Lang?"
The organizer swallowed hard.
"She purchased a Platinum Lifetime Membership."
"Cancel it."
"What?"
"Immediately."
A tablet was handed to Evelyn.
She tapped the screen once.
Victoria's digital membership disappeared before her eyes.
"No!"
"My father donated millions to this club!"
Evelyn looked directly into her eyes.
"Donations buy access."
"They never buy ownership."
"And they certainly don't buy the right to humiliate another human being."
