Chapter 1: The Woman They Never Investigated

Chapter 1: The Woman They Never Investigated

No one moved.

The steel barriers surrounding the ballroom stood like the walls of a fortress.

Emergency lights flickered to life.

The music was gone.

Only frightened breathing remained.

The heir's confidence shattered.

"You... you trapped everyone?"

I calmly adjusted the torn sleeve of my evening gown.

"I trapped the guilty."

His lawyer stepped forward immediately.

"This is illegal!"

"So is assault."

I glanced toward the security cameras.

"So is attempted murder."

Every screen surrounding the ballroom suddenly illuminated.

Dozens of monitors came alive at once.

Footage.

Crystal-clear.

Every second.

Every insult.

Every slap.

Every punch.

His hand wrapping around my throat.

His body slamming mine against the marble wall.

The ballroom watched in horrified silence.

Someone whispered,

"...Everything was recorded."

His mother staggered backward.

"No..."

His father turned pale.

"You told us she attacked you first..."

His son couldn't answer.

Because the cameras never lied.

The heir suddenly lunged toward the control panel.

"Destroy the recordings!"

Before he reached it—

Thirty armored security officers entered through hidden access doors.

Black uniforms.

Silent discipline.

Military precision.

Every weapon remained lowered.

They didn't need to threaten anyone.

Their presence was enough.

The captain removed his helmet.

"Ma'am."

"The estate is secure."

I nodded once.

"Thank you."

The guests exchanged confused looks.

One billionaire quietly asked,

"Whose security team is that?"

May you like

No one knew.

Not yet.
