Lily running into Ava's arms.

Dr. Hayes had secretly sold newborn babies to wealthy couples whose fertility treatments had failed.

Judge Briggs nodded slowly.
"The court recognizes the biological relationship."
She paused.
"But more importantly..."
She smiled at Lily.
"...it recognizes the bond that never should have been broken."
Her gavel struck.
"Full legal custody is awarded to Ava Carter."
Lily screamed with joy.
