Chapter 4: The Trial

Chapter 4: The Trial

The courtroom overflowed.

Journalists lined every bench.

Former employees attended voluntarily.

Many had their own stories.

Threats.

Violence.

Fraud.

Years of silence.

Lauren became the prosecution's final witness.

She walked slowly to the stand, holding Mason's hand until the bailiff escorted the boy outside.

Then she testified.

Tyler had admitted pushing Bridget.

He believed no jury would ever convict "the favorite son."

He ordered Marcus to erase the cameras.

He even discussed claiming Bridget had become emotionally unstable after inheriting the estate.

When the prosecutor finished, Tyler exploded.

"You're destroying this family!"

Lauren looked directly at him.

"No."

"You did."

The jury deliberated less than three hours.

Attempted murder.

Witness intimidation.

Evidence tampering.

Financial fraud.

Guilty.

Tyler never looked back as deputies led him away.
