CHAPTER 2: THE TRUTH HIDDEN FOR TWENTY YEARS

CHAPTER 2: THE TRUTH HIDDEN FOR TWENTY YEARS

Sophia was escorted into the royal chamber.

The Queen, Prince Victor, and members of the royal council waited.

No one spoke.

Finally, Sophia broke the silence.

"I never kidnapped her."

The Queen's eyes widened.

"What do you mean?"

Sophia reached into her purse and removed an old silver pendant.

Inside was a photograph burned around the edges.

A baby.

The lost princess.

"The palace fire wasn't an accident," Sophia said.

"The child was targeted."

Gasps filled the room.

Prince Victor slammed his fist on the table.

"Who would dare?"

Sophia looked directly at Lord Harrington, the kingdom's chief advisor.

The color drained from his face.

"For power."

The room exploded.

Sophia revealed everything.

Twenty years earlier, she had overheard a plot.

Several powerful nobles planned to eliminate the royal bloodline and seize control of the throne.

To save the infant princess, Sophia fled the palace during the fire.

She raised the child in secret.

Protected her.

Loved her.

Taught her kindness.

The Queen's tears flowed freely.

"You gave up your entire life for her."

Sophia nodded.

"I promised her mother I would keep her safe."

Suddenly Lord Harrington tried to escape.

Royal guards intercepted him before he reached the door.

Evidence was uncovered.

Witnesses came forward.

The conspiracy that had remained buried for decades finally collapsed.

By sunrise, arrests had begun across the kingdom.

Justice was finally catching up with the past.
