The television above the fireplace came alive.
Security footage filled the screen.

The kitchen stood empty.
Then Eleanor walked inside.
She looked over both shoulders.
She removed a small bottle from her purse.
Several white drops disappeared into Ava's wine glass.
The timestamp was unmistakable.
No one spoke.
Richard slowly turned toward his wife.
"Eleanor..."
She shook her head desperately.
"You don't understand!"
"It wasn't poison!"
"I only wanted her asleep."

"So I wouldn't attend tomorrow's board meeting."

"What board meeting?"
Ava opened another folder.
"The meeting where your shareholders planned to vote."

"They already know someone has been stealing from Ashford Holdings."
