Chapter 4

CHAPTER 4: THE RETURN OF HALE CONSTRUCTION
Three months later, Hale Construction opened its doors again.
But this time, things were different.
My father was no longer the lonely billionaire trapped inside his own home.
He was surrounded by people who truly cared.
Employees who had worked beside him for decades returned.
Old friends came back.
And the company began rebuilding.
I stood beside him during the reopening ceremony.
“You know,” my father said, smiling, “your mother would be proud.”
I looked at the building.
At the company my parents built together.
“She would probably tell me I took too long.”
My father laughed.
For the first time in years, I heard his real laugh.
Not a forced one.
Not a broken one.
A happy one.
Later that evening, he handed me a small box.
Inside was my mother’s necklace.
The one Vivian had hidden after her death.
“She wanted you to have this.”
I held it carefully.
“She wrote you a letter.”
My hands shook.
Inside were only a few words.
"Never let anyone convince you that kindness is weakness."
I closed my eyes.
Because suddenly, I understood.
Everything I had done.
Everything I had fought for.
May you like
Was because my mother taught me one thing:
A good heart and a strong mind could exist together.
