Chapter 2: The Truth Hidden for Seven Years

Chapter 2: The Truth Hidden for Seven Years
The hotel manager hurried over after recognizing the photograph.
He stared at the young woman in the picture.
"I remember her."
His voice cracked.
"Her name was Elena."
The little girl looked up immediately.
"You knew my mommy?"
The manager nodded sadly.
"She worked night shifts here for years."
He turned toward the elegant guest.
"Ma'am... this bag was accidentally donated after a charity event seven years ago. It must have been mixed in with the lost-and-found collection."
The woman covered her mouth in horror.
"Oh my God..."
"I never stole it."
"I bought it at a charity auction."
The child wasn't angry.
She simply asked,
"Can I have the picture?"
The woman carefully removed the photograph and handed it over.
The little girl hugged it tightly against her chest.
Then the manager unfolded the old letter.
It had never been opened.
The handwriting was shaky.
"If my daughter ever finds this... please know I searched for you until my last breath. This bag carries every memory I couldn't afford to leave anywhere else. Never believe you were abandoned. You were loved every single day."
The little girl collapsed into tears.
Even strangers in the lobby quietly wiped their eyes.
For years she had believed her mother had left her behind.
