CHAPTER 1: THE CALL THAT STARTED THE COLLAPSE

Alexander stayed kneeling beside Sofia long after the silence in the room became unbearable.
Then he finally stood up.
He didn’t ask for details again. He didn’t need them. The bruises said everything.
He pulled out his phone and made a single call.
“Bring everyone I trust,” he said. “No media. No leaks. And find Javier.”
That was all.
Within two hours, the world Sofia had been married into quietly began to move.
Meanwhile, Carmen was at her estate, celebrating.
She believed the night had gone perfectly.
Sofia would “calm down.”
The condo would “eventually be transferred.”
And no one would dare challenge her family.
Until her phone rang.
A lawyer on the other end spoke carefully.
“Ma’am… your son’s marriage contract has been reviewed. There are… complications.”
Carmen frowned.
“What complications?”
A pause.
“Significant financial exposure. And allegations that could escalate into criminal investigation.”
For the first time that night, her smile disappeared.
Across the city, Javier sat in a penthouse suite, scrolling through messages from his mother.
Then one message arrived from an unknown number.
A photo.
Sofia’s bruised face.
And beneath it, a single line:
“You had your chance to protect her.”
Javier’s hands went cold.
But before he could move, the door behind him opened.
Alexander stepped inside.
“You will come with me,” he said calmly.
Javier stood up fast. “I didn’t— I didn’t tell her to hurt—”
Alexander interrupted him without raising his voice.
“I didn’t come to listen.”
Two men entered behind Alexander.

Javier didn’t resist when they took his phone.
Because for the first time in his life, he understood something was already beyond his control.
