CHAPTER 5 — The Bride Who Didn’t Break

CHAPTER 5 — The Bride Who Didn’t Break

They thought I would disappear quietly.

They were wrong.

I returned to the city on the night of the engagement announcement between Adrian and Lena.

The same hotel.

The same ballroom.

The same people who watched me get dragged out like trash.

But this time, I didn’t come alone.

Blackvale had already released the truth to every major financial network.

Screens around the ballroom flickered mid-toast.

Then the room went silent.

Adrian turned toward the screen.

And saw everything.

The forged audio.

The financial sabotage.

His father’s final medical report.

Lena’s entire network of lies exposed in real time.

Her champagne glass slipped from her hand.

“No…” she whispered.

Adrian turned slowly toward her.

Then toward me—standing at the entrance, one hand resting protectively over my belly.

For the first time, his voice broke.

“You let me destroy you…”

I shook my head.

“No,” I said quietly. “You did that yourself.”

Security moved toward Lena this time.

Not me.

As she was dragged away screaming, Adrian stepped forward—but I raised my hand.

Not in anger.

In finality.

“You believed what was easiest,” I said. “Not what was true.”

His silence was all the answer I needed.

I turned away.

And walked out of the place where I had once been discarded.

Behind me, his voice echoed one last time:

“Khloe… is there any way back?”

I didn’t stop walking.

Because some betrayals don’t end a story.

May you like

They end a version of you that will never exist again.

THE END.
