Crystal glasses filled the ballroom.
Champagne flowed.
The orchestra played softly.
Cassandra stood beside Marcus wearing an elegant white gown, accepting congratulations from hundreds of guests.
Finally Marcus stepped onto the stage.
"I'd like to thank everyone for celebrating with us."
Applause echoed through the room.
"Before we announce our wedding date, I'd like everyone to watch a short family video."
The lights dimmed.
A large screen illuminated the ballroom.
At first, everyone smiled.
Pictures of Marcus, his late wife, and little Lily appeared.
Then...
The hidden-camera footage began.
Silence.
Lily knelt beside the dog's bowl, shaking so violently she could barely lift the spoon.
Cassandra stood over her.
"Eat."
The little girl whispered, "Please...I'm sorry."
"No," Cassandra replied coldly. "Dogs eat from bowls. Bad girls do too."
Gasps spread through the crowd.
Another clip.
Cassandra locking Lily inside the storage room.
Another.
She slapped the child's hand for touching a family photograph.
Then came the phone recording.
"I'll marry him."
"I'll take everything."
"The child doesn't matter."
Someone dropped a champagne glass.
An investor stood up in disbelief.
Marcus slowly turned toward Cassandra.
"You wanted my company."
Her face turned pale.
"You tortured my daughter."
"No..."
"You pretended to love us."
"It's fake!" Cassandra screamed. "He edited it!"
Marcus calmly pressed one more button.
The screen displayed timestamps from multiple cameras.
Audio files.
Backup recordings.
Cloud storage confirmations.
There was no escape.
Security officers entered the ballroom.
Guests stepped away from Cassandra as though she carried poison.
