Six months later...
Winter snow covered the city.
Nathan stood outside the courthouse holding a tiny baby wrapped in a soft blue blanket.
Olivia smiled as their newborn son yawned peacefully in her arms.
Inside the courtroom, Vanessa received a lengthy prison sentence for attempted murder, evidence tampering, fraud, and conspiracy.
Before she was taken away, she looked at Olivia one final time.
"I lost everything."
Olivia answered calmly.
"No."
"You threw it away."
Outside, Nathan looked toward the skyline where their wedding had almost become a funeral.
Instead, it became the day the truth finally came to light.
He kissed Olivia's forehead and looked at their son.
"We can't change yesterday."
"But we get to decide what tomorrow looks like."
Olivia smiled through happy tears.
For the first time in years, neither of them was running from the past.
