CHAPTER 4 — The Fall of Marcus Vale

CHAPTER 4 — The Fall of Marcus Vale
By midnight, Marcus tried to regain control.
He called investors.
No answer.
He called legal counsel.
They had already switched representation.
He rushed to the hotel network systems.
Locked out.
Every terminal.
Every system.
Every property.
All gone.
Even his private penthouse door no longer recognized his keycard.
Meanwhile, Isabella walked through the hotel lobby for the first time in years.
Employees bowed—not to Marcus, but to her.
The mistress appeared behind him, suddenly uncertain.
“This… this can’t be real,” she whispered.
Marcus turned slowly, his voice breaking.
“What did you do?”
Isabella stopped in front of him.
“I didn’t do anything.”
A pause.
“My family simply stopped letting you pretend.”
Security approached—but this time, not for Isabella.
For Marcus.
He was escorted out the same way he had escorted her.
Through the same doors.
May you like
Into the same silence.
Only this time, no one looked away.
