Security doors at the back of the ballroom opened.
Three legal officers entered, followed by the tower’s board members. One of them carried a sealed document folder marked with the corporate crest.
The executive spoke again, trembling slightly. “Chairwoman Lin, the acquisition confirmation is ready. The building is officially under your holding group as of this morning.”
A collective gasp spread.
The arrogant guest’s face tightened. “Chairwoman Lin…?”
Now it made sense—and it shattered everything he believed.
The woman in the stained vest was not a waitress. She was the owner of the entire corporate tower. The entire gala. The entire company hosting this elite gathering.
She had been walking among them unnoticed.
