Chapter 2: The Fall of a Star

Chapter 2: The Fall of a Star
Within minutes, the ballroom transformed.
No one laughed anymore.
Publicists whispered into phones.
Lawyers appeared from nowhere.
The studio's legal counsel reviewed the videos one after another.
Every recording showed the same truth.
The insults.
The wine.
The slap.
No edits.
No missing context.
Just reality.
Vanessa rushed toward the chairman.
"I can explain."
He raised one hand.
"You've already explained."
She turned to me.
"Melissa... I was joking."
"You embarrassed me first."
I met her eyes.
"When?"
She opened her mouth...
Then stopped.
Because there wasn't an answer.
She had judged me the moment she saw my hoodie.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
The director stepped forward nervously.
"Melissa, surely we can fix this."
I looked at him quietly.
"Can you?"
He remembered.
He was the one who told me to wait by the service hallway.
The one who laughed.
The one who never once asked whether I belonged.
The chairman opened another folder.
"Effective immediately, Vanessa is released from all future productions."
Gasps filled the room.
"The director is removed pending internal review."
Another silence.
"And production will pause until Melissa appoints a new creative team."
The words struck harder than any slap.
Power had shifted completely.
Vanessa's knees weakened.
Years spent building a career...
Collapsed in less than ten minutes.
Not because of revenge.
Because of choices she had made in front of everyone.
She looked at me with tears beginning to form.
"Please..."
"I'll apologize."
I nodded.
"I believe you."
Hope returned to her face.
Then I continued.
"But apologies don't erase consequences."
She lowered her head.
For the first time in years...
Hollywood's brightest star stood completely alone.
No photographers asked for pictures.
No executives approached.
No friends remained beside her.
May you like
Only silence followed her as she slowly walked toward the exit.
The same silence she had forced onto everyone else.
