Chapter 2

Chapter 3: The Woman Who Came Home
Three months later, sunlight filled the nursery once again.
But everything had changed.
The white crib was gone.
The locks were gone.
The fear was gone.
Amelia sat in a rocking chair holding her baby daughter.
The little girl laughed as Amelia kissed her forehead.
Across the room, Ethan watched silently.
The guilt still lived inside him.
Some wounds take time to heal.
Some apologies can never fully erase the past.
He walked over and knelt beside them.
"I'm sorry," he said.
Amelia looked at him.
For a long moment, neither spoke.
Then she reached for his hand.
Not because she had forgotten.
But because she had chosen to move forward.
Their daughter wrapped her tiny fingers around both of theirs.
And suddenly, the room felt lighter.
Years later, when people asked Amelia what saved her, she never spoke about the mansion.
Or the money.
Or the family name.
She always gave the same answer.
"The truth."
Because lies can survive for years behind closed doors.
Cruelty can hide in silence.
But sooner or later, someone opens the door.
And when the truth finally walks into the room...
May you like
everything changes.
THE END. ❤️
