Daniel confessed that he had known Victoria for nearly two years.

When the FBI reopened the investigation, Victoria panicked.
She convinced Daniel—a private cybersecurity consultant—to secretly recover evidence before the authorities found it.
They had hidden the meetings from Richard because they feared he would never believe them.
Richard looked at his wife.
