Chapter 1: The Hand No One Could Explain
Emily barely slept that night.
Every time she closed her eyes, she felt herself falling again.
The empty staircase haunted her.
She kept replaying the moment in her mind.
She had been alone.
She was sure of it.
Yet something didn't feel right.
The next morning, her husband, Daniel Parker, insisted she stay in bed while he called the family doctor.
"You almost lost everything yesterday," he whispered, kissing her forehead. "Nothing is more important than you and our baby."
Emily forced a smile, but unease lingered.
Later that afternoon, the mansion's security chief knocked on Daniel's office door.
"Sir... I think you should see this."
The footage from Camera 7 overlooked the grand staircase.
At first, everything looked ordinary.
Emily slowly descended the stairs, one careful step at a time.
Then the video froze.
The security chief zoomed in.
Everyone in the room stopped breathing.
Just before Emily slipped...
A hand appeared behind her.
It wasn't reaching to help.
It shoved her.
Hard.
Daniel stared at the screen in disbelief.
"Who is that?"
The camera angle only captured an arm hidden behind the marble pillar.
The person's face remained invisible.
Emily hadn't fallen because of bad luck.
