Chapter 3: The Most Dangerous Man Changed

Chapter 3: The Most Dangerous Man Changed

One year later.

The DeLuca Foundation Children's Medical Center opened its doors in downtown Chicago.

Reporters crowded the entrance.

Politicians fought for a place in the front row.

But the loudest applause wasn't for Dominic DeLuca.

It was for Grace.

The former waitress now served as the foundation's executive director, ensuring that no family would ever lose a loved one because they couldn't afford treatment.

Her mother's recovery had become the foundation's very first success story.

During the ceremony, a reporter asked the question everyone wanted answered.

"Mr. DeLuca, what changed you?"

Dominic looked toward Grace, who was helping a little girl cut the ribbon.

Then he answered with complete honesty.

"The strongest person I ever met wasn't rich."

"She wasn't powerful."

"She wasn't feared."

"She was a waitress who broke a tray of champagne because she refused to let an old woman be hurt."

He paused.

"I built an empire that made people obey me."

"Grace built something far greater."

"She made people believe again."

The crowd erupted into applause.

Grace walked over, smiling.

"So..."

"Was I really the biggest mistake you ever encountered?"

Dominic chuckled.

"No."

"You were the best accident that ever happened to me."

They stood together as cameras flashed around them.

Not as a feared king and an ordinary waitress.

But as two people whose lives had crossed because one simple act of courage proved stronger than fear.

Sometimes the most dangerous man in the city doesn't need someone to save his life.

May you like

He needs someone brave enough to remind him how to live it.

The End.
