Chapter 2: The Promise

Chapter 2: The Promise

The guests listened as Noah shared his story.

After his mother's death, he carried her notebook everywhere.

Inside were hundreds of handwritten messages.

Encouragements.

Dreams.

Promises.

One page had a name written at the top.

The woman's name.

Beneath it were simple words:

"If she ever forgets her strength, remind her."

The woman could barely breathe.

"How could your mother know?"

Noah shrugged.

"She said pain makes people forget who they are."

He handed her the notebook.

The page was old and worn.

But the handwriting remained clear.

"One day, you will stand again. Not because your legs become stronger, but because your courage does."

The woman broke down completely.

The crowd cried with her.

Even the hardened businessmen and politicians in attendance wiped their eyes.

The orchestra quietly began playing again.

A gentle melody filled the room.

The woman looked at Noah.

"You came all this way for me?"

He nodded.

"I made a promise."

"A promise?"

"To finish what my mom started."

For a long moment, neither spoke.

Then the woman extended her hand.

"Would you still like that dance?"

May you like

Noah grinned.

The ballroom burst into applause.
