“When Names Were Stolen: The Vale Identity Experiment Exposed”

CHAPTER 1 — THE FILE THAT COULD ERASE A FAMILY

Arthur’s voice echoed through the stone chamber, heavy with exhaustion.

“Oliver wasn’t the only child involved.”

Eliza felt her grip tighten around the flash drive.

Damian didn’t lower the gun.

Arthur steadied himself against the wall. Blood seeped through his shirt, but his eyes stayed sharp.

“Marcus Vale didn’t build an empire,” Arthur said. “He built a replacement system for human identity. If someone paid enough, he could make a child disappear legally… or make another child take their place.”

Eliza’s breath shook. “That’s impossible.”

Evelyn answered quietly, “It wasn’t impossible. It was protected.”

The monitors above flickered again.

New documents appeared.

A ledger.

Rows of names.

Dates of birth.

Swapped identities.

Erased records.

And then one line appeared again and again:

TRANSFER AUTHORIZED — VALE OVERRIDE

Oliver’s small voice broke through the tension.

“Mommy… why is my name on the screen?”

Eliza turned so fast it hurt.

“No. No, sweetheart, that’s not—”

But Damian saw it too.

A second entry.

OLIVER H. — ORIGINAL ID: UNKNOWN

Silence swallowed the room.

Marcus’s voice returned through the speakers, softer now.

“You see it now, don’t you? The doubt is already growing.”

Damian stepped closer to the monitors, jaw clenched so hard it trembled.

“Tell me what this means.”

Arthur exhaled slowly.

“It means Oliver may not be the only child raised under a stolen identity.”

Eliza felt the ground tilt.

Evelyn suddenly spoke.

“Marcus is trying to fracture you before he arrives. That’s his pattern. If you turn on each other, he wins without firing another shot.”

A distant explosion shook dust from the ceiling again.

Closer this time.

Damian turned sharply.

“He’s here.”
