CHAPTER 1: THE BOARDROOM RETURN

CHAPTER 1: THE BOARDROOM RETURN

The black SUV doors closed behind me with a soft, final click.

Inside, the air smelled like leather and quiet authority.

My assistant, Daniel, handed me a tablet.

“It’s done, ma’am. The board has been notified. Lucas is currently trying to reach emergency investors, but—”

He paused.

“They’re not picking up.”

I didn’t smile. Not yet.

Outside the tinted window, the city moved like nothing had happened. People went on with their dinners, their conversations, their ordinary lives.

Inside Lucas’s world, everything was collapsing.

“Security?” I asked calmly.

Daniel nodded. “Removed him from executive access ten minutes ago.”

Good.

Tonight wasn’t about revenge.

It was about correction.

CHAPTER 2: THE MAN WHO OWNS NOTHING

Back at the company headquarters, chaos had already taken root.

Lucas stood in the glass boardroom, shouting into a phone that no longer gave him answers.

“This is MY company!” he yelled. “You can’t just freeze my accounts!”

A legal advisor stepped forward quietly.

“Actually… you signed that authority away during the last restructuring round. It was bundled into the shareholder agreement.”

Lucas froze.

“That was years ago,” he whispered.

“Yes,” the advisor replied. “Under instructions from the majority shareholder.”

Lucas slowly turned.

“What majority shareholder?”

The door opened.

And I walked in.

Not as his wife.

Not as the woman he dismissed.

But as the owner of every silence in the room.

Behind me, the board members stood up one by one.

Respectful.

Careful.

Waiting.

Lucas stared at me like he was seeing me for the first time.

“You?” he said hoarsely. “It was always you?”

I placed the file on the table.

“Yes.”

May you like

Then I slid it across.

“And now it’s over.”
