It was time to pull the strings and tighten the noose. I didn't want Richard just dead; a bullet was too quick, too kind. I wanted him entirely destroyed, his legacy burned to ash. I took the encrypted server data I had stolen from his office and sent anonymous, heavily encrypted digital packages to two very different locations.
Package A went directly to the desk of the lead investigator at the FBI’s Financial Crimes Division. It contained pristine, undeniable evidence of Richard’s systemic tax evasion, massive corporate fraud, and the sealed medical records of his domestic abuse against Lily.

Package B went to the private server of the leader of the Los Soles cartel in Mexico. It contained altered ledgers, brilliantly manipulated by my code to look as though Richard had been skimming an extra twenty percent off the top for the last three years, funneling the cartel's blood money into a hidden trust account in the Cayman Islands.
With a few keystrokes, Richard was now officially the most hunted man in America, wanted by both the law and the lawless.
