Chapter 2 – A Mother's Impossible Choice

Chapter 2 – A Mother's Impossible Choice
Earlier that afternoon...
Margaret had met Dr. Victor Hayes in the mansion's private garden.
Victor had served as the Whitmore family's physician for nearly twenty years.
He handed her a tiny bottle filled with a clear liquid.
"The baby has inherited the same genetic disorder that killed your husband," Victor said quietly.
"If you don't add this to his bottle tonight, he'll suffer terribly."
Margaret's hands trembled.
"Will it cure him?"
Victor never answered directly.
"It will spare him from a lifetime of pain."
Margaret believed him.
She had watched her husband die slowly.
She couldn't bear the thought of her grandson suffering the same fate.
So she poured the liquid into the milk.
What she never knew...
May you like
It wasn't medicine.
It was poison.
