Chapter 14 - The Reckoning. The heavy silence in the room was only broken by Andrew’s pathetic, ragged sobbing.

He crawled across the floor, reaching out with a trembling hand to grab the hem of my tactical pants.

"I was wrong, Mariana, I was so stupid," Andrew cried, tears streaming down his battered face.

"I will give you everything back, I will make a public apology, just don't let them kill me!" he pleaded.

I looked down at his bloodstained fingers, remembering the sheer force of his hand striking my cheek.

I slowly raised my heavy combat boot and stomped down firmly on his wrist.

A sickening crack echoed through the room, followed immediately by Andrew's piercing scream of agony.

"You already lost everything, Andrew," I told him, my voice colder than the mountain blizzard outside.

"Your company is mine, your reputation is ashes, and your bank accounts are completely empty."

Hector chuckled from his leather armchair, clearly enjoying the brutal domestic dispute unfolding in his bedroom.

"So, what is the plan, little dragon?" Hector asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Do you want to put a bullet in his head, or should I feed him to my guard dogs?"

I pulled my foot back, letting Andrew curl into a whimpering, agonizing ball on the floor.

"Death is far too merciful for a man whose entire identity is tied to his ego," I declared.

I looked at Victor, signaling him to step forward with his encrypted tablet.

"As of this exact moment, Andrew Whitmore is wanted by Interpol for massive international corporate fraud," Victor announced.

"We anonymously leaked all of his forged financial documents to every major news outlet in the world."

Andrew stopped crying, his bruised face contorting into an expression of sheer horror.

"You framed me?" Andrew whispered in absolute disbelief.

"I simply revealed the truth that I had spent four years expertly hiding," I corrected him.

"You are going to spend the rest of your miserable life rotting in a maximum-security federal prison."

I turned my attention back to the cartel boss, who was watching me with newfound respect.

"Keep the flash drives, Hector," I offered, lowering my weapon completely.

"The shipping routes on those drives were abandoned by my family six months ago."

Hector's smile vanished instantly, realizing he had traded a war for completely useless information.

"You are a very dangerous woman, Mariana," Hector murmured, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Do not ever forget it," I warned him, turning my back on the cartel leader without a hint of fear.

"Victor, bag the trash and load him onto the chopper," I ordered, walking toward the shattered doors.

Two of my operatives grabbed Andrew by his broken arms, dragging his screaming body down the hallway.

He would face the cameras, the judges, and the brutal reality of prison without a single dime to his name.
