Chapter 4 - The Gathering Storm

The morning sun cast a pale, weak light over the sprawling gardens of the estate.

Julian stood on the grand balcony, gripping the marble railing until his knuckles turned completely white.

He had not slept a single wink throughout the agonizingly long night.

His mind was a turbulent ocean of betrayal, anger, and overwhelming sadness.

Arthur joined him on the balcony, handing him a steaming cup of strong black coffee.

The older man looked incredibly tired, the lines on his face deepening overnight.

Arthur warned Julian that Chloe was unpredictable and extremely dangerous when cornered.

He had doubled the security perimeter around the estate and hired personal bodyguards for Elena.

Julian nodded quietly, understanding the gravity of the terrifying situation.

He knew Chloe's sweet demeanor was merely a mask to hide her calculating and ruthless nature.

Downstairs in the massive kitchen, Elena was gently applying a soothing ointment to her bruised back.

Every movement sent sharp pains shooting through her entire body.

She remembered the wild, unhinged look in Chloe's eyes during the violent struggle in the dressing room.

Elena knew that Chloe was not going to walk away quietly from the immense fortune.

She felt a cold dread pooling in her stomach, a premonition of the violence yet to come.

Suddenly, a loud crash echoed from the main entrance hall of the mansion.

Julian and Arthur rushed inside, their hearts pounding in their chests.

One of the security guards was lying motionless on the polished marble floor.
