Months passed.
Emily's story reached far beyond Cedar Hollow.
Letters arrived from across the country.
Children mailed stuffed animals.
Families donated clothes.
Retired nurses knitted tiny blankets for the baby everyone had begun calling "the miracle boy."
His real name was Noah.
He grew stronger every day.
His bright eyes followed Emily everywhere she went.
Whenever he cried...

Officer Daniel Hayes visited often.
