Chapter 2: The Birthday No One Wanted

Chapter 2: The Birthday No One Wanted
The security camera overlooked the backyard.
At first, everything appeared ordinary.
Workers decorating.
Children laughing.
Guests arriving.
Then Lily entered the frame.
She wore the pink sweater I had bought her for her birthday.
She looked excited.
She believed the party was for her.
Instead...
She walked toward the table.
Vanessa intercepted her.
Even without audio, everyone could read her lips.
"This isn't your party."
Lily froze.
She looked confused.
Then another child appeared.
A little girl wearing an expensive birthday crown.
The decorations.
The presents.
The cake.
Everything had been prepared for her.
Not Lily.
Detective Harris frowned.
"Keep playing."
The footage became darker as evening approached.
Most guests had gone inside.
Lily remained alone.
Then my mother approached.
She took Lily by the hand.
Not gently.
Forcefully.
The two disappeared behind the garage.
Minutes later...
Vanessa carried a large black garbage bag toward the dumpster.
She looked around before lifting the lid.
The video couldn't clearly show what happened next.
But it showed enough.
She wasn't carrying trash.
May you like
She was carrying someone small.
The room fell completely silent.
