Chapter 2 – The Man Who Walked Into Silence

Chapter 2 – The Man Who Walked Into Silence

Exactly twelve minutes later...

The ballroom doors opened.

Every head turned.

A tall silver-haired man entered without saying a word.

His tailored navy suit carried no flashy designer logo.

He didn't need one.

Confidence followed him like a shadow.

Several guests immediately recognized him.

Forks clattered onto plates.

Whispers spread across the room.

"Isn't that..."

"It can't be..."

"Oh my God..."

My father's eyes ignored everyone else.

He walked straight toward my daughter.

Without asking a single question...

He knelt.

Carefully brushed dried gravy from her cheek.

Then wrapped his own expensive suit jacket around her.

"My princess."

His voice shook.

"Who did this?"

She hesitated.

Then slowly lifted one trembling finger.

Toward Margaret.

The room became deathly quiet.

My father stood.

His face showed no anger.

Only disappointment.

He looked at my husband.

"You hit my daughter?"

My husband swallowed.

"It was a family matter."

"No."

My father replied.

"You made it my business."

Margaret stepped forward confidently.

"And who exactly do you think you are?"

One of the wedding guests suddenly whispered loud enough for nearby tables to hear.

"That's Daniel Carter."

Another guest gasped.

"The founder of Carter Global Holdings?"

Within seconds...

The whisper spread through the ballroom.

Margaret's expression slowly changed.

She had spent years boasting about her family's influence.

She had never realized the woman she constantly mocked...

Was the daughter of one of the country's most respected business leaders.

My father spoke quietly.

"You judged my family because we never flaunted our name."

He looked around the ballroom.

"That ends today."
