Chapter 9: The Liquidation

Chapter 9: The Liquidation

With Adrian and Vanessa locked away, the final phase of my father’s plan was executed: erasing their legacy.

Vale Enterprises was formally liquidated. My father purchased the remaining viable assets for pennies on the dollar, integrating the profitable divisions into his own global portfolio. The sprawling Dallas estate—the mansion where I had bled on the marble floor—was seized by the federal government and put up for public auction.

I bought it.

I didn't buy it to live in it. I bought it to destroy it.

On a crisp Tuesday morning, I stood at the edge of the property line with my father by my side. A team of demolition experts had wired the central pillars of the estate.

"Are you ready?" the foreman asked, handing me a small electronic detonator.

I looked at the crystal chandelier visible through the large bay windows—the exact spot where I had kneeled.

May you like

"Yes," I said quietly.

I pressed the button. A synchronized series of explosions echoed through the air, and within seconds, the massive structure collapsed inward, swallowing the crystal, the velvet, and the memories in a massive cloud of gray dust. The estate was gone. The earth was scorched. The past was buried.
