Chapter 20 - Horizons.The wind whipped across the flight deck of the Artemis, rustling the crisp fabric of my uniform as the carrier cut through the gentle ocean swells.
Major Sterling walked up beside me, holding two steaming cups of coffee and offering a subtle, approving nod.
“So, Commander, what happens to Vance Global now?” Sterling asked, handing me a cup.
“The board has been completely restructured under naval oversight, and it’s being converted into a maritime rescue and technology development firm,” I replied, taking a sip.
“And you? Are you staying with the JAG corps, or taking that promotion to Captain?” he pressed with a curious smile.
I looked out at the vast, open expanse of the ocean, feeling the warm sun break through the morning clouds above us.
