The disguised hospital worker accepted a plea agreement and testified against him.

The judge acknowledged the manipulation but rejected it as an excuse.
“You had countless opportunities to walk away.”
“You chose violence.”
Isabella received a long prison sentence.
The crimson gown was entered into evidence.

Edward voluntarily surrendered to authorities for his role in concealing evidence and faking his death.
Before he was taken away, he asked to see Marcus.
They met in a private hospital room.
“I thought disappearing would protect you.”

“I nearly lost my wife because I believed control was the same as strength.”
Edward lowered his head.
“I am sorry.”
Marcus did not forgive him.

But he allowed Edward to see Grace through the glass.
The baby had gained nearly two pounds.
Her breathing tube had been removed.
Khloe stood beside Marcus.
Their marriage remained wounded.
