Maya swallowed hard, gently helping the elderly Mrs. Sterling to her feet. She fully expected Alexander to turn his wrath on her next. "I'll pack my things, Mr. Sterling," Maya said softly, her eyes glued to the scuffed toes of her practical black shoes.
"Pack them," Alexander agreed. Maya’s heart sank. "And move them to the guest suite in the East Wing."

"She hasn't let anyone touch her in weeks, but she’s holding onto you like you’re her lifeline. You are no longer part of the cleaning staff. As of this minute, you are my grandmother’s personal companion. Your salary is quadrupled, with full benefits."
