CHAPTER 15 THE SECOND HEIR

CHAPTER 15 THE SECOND HEIR
The name remained on the computer screen.
NOAH WHITMORE.
Nobody spoke.
Nobody moved.
Because everyone understood what that name meant.
The Whitmore family had spent thirty years searching for one missing child.
Now they discovered there was another secret.
Another heir.
Another person whose existence had been hidden.
Isabella stared at the photograph.
The baby in the image was wearing the same jade pendant.
The same symbol that had revealed her identity.
The same symbol that had carried the truth across decades.
“Who is he?”
Her voice was quiet.
But everyone heard the fear behind it.
Eleanor slowly approached the screen.
Her face was filled with confusion.
“I don't know.”
Isabella looked at her.
“You don't know?”
Eleanor shook her head.
“I swear.”
Daniel continued searching the file.
“There are more documents.”
He opened another page.
The information was incomplete.
Most of the records had been deleted.
But one sentence remained.
"Noah Whitmore must remain hidden until the true heir returns."
Alexander frowned.
“The true heir?”
He looked at Isabella.
“Does that mean you?”
Daniel nodded slowly.
“Most likely.”
Thomas looked confused.
“But why hide another child?”
Nobody answered.
Because the question was impossible.
Why would a family hide its own bloodline?
Why would someone erase two children instead of one?
Margaret stepped closer.
Her face had changed.
She looked terrified.
“What?”
Everyone turned toward her.
“You know something.”
Margaret looked at the photograph.
“I have seen this before.”
Eleanor immediately stood.
“When?”
Margaret hesitated.
“Thirty years ago.”
The room became silent.
Margaret took a deep breath.
“The night Lily disappeared...”
She looked at Isabella.
“There was another baby.”
Isabella froze.
“Another baby?”
Margaret nodded.
“Yes.”
“Where?”
Margaret looked down.
“I don't know.”
Eleanor stepped closer.
“Margaret.”
Her voice was serious.
“What are you not telling us?”
Margaret closed her eyes.
“I found Lily first.”
She paused.
“But before I left the hospital...”
“I heard someone crying.”
Everyone listened.
“There was another room.”
Margaret continued.
“A newborn baby was there.”
Daniel frowned.
“Was it Noah?”
Margaret nodded.
“I believe so.”
Alexander looked shocked.
“So both children were taken?”
Margaret nodded.
“Yes.”
“Why?”
She whispered:
“Because someone wanted to erase the entire future of the Whitmore family.”
The truth became darker.
The person behind everything was not trying to remove one heir.
They were trying to remove all possible heirs.
Lily.
Noah.
Anyone connected to the bloodline.
At the Vale penthouse...
Charlotte watched the city lights.
Adrian stood behind her.
“You told them about Noah.”
Charlotte smiled.
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because now they will look for him.”
“And?”
“They will waste time.”
Adrian frowned.
“You are sure?”
Charlotte turned.
“You still underestimate me.”
Adrian looked uncertain.
“You promised this would end quickly.”
Charlotte walked toward the table.
On it were dozens of files.
Pictures.
Documents.
Names.
Everyone connected to the Whitmore family.
“I waited thirty years.”
She touched one photograph.
“I can wait a little longer.”
Back at the mansion...
Eleanor sat alone.
Isabella found her in the old family room.
The same room where Eleanor kept memories of Lily.
Isabella stood quietly.
“You should be resting.”
Eleanor smiled sadly.
“Your father used to say that too.”
The words surprised Isabella.
“You remember him?”
“Every day.”
Isabella sat beside her.
“I wish I remembered.”
Eleanor looked at her.
“You don't have to remember.”
“Why?”
“Because you are here now.”
A tear moved down Eleanor's face.
“I lost so many years.”
Isabella reached for her hand.
“But we still have tomorrow.”
For the first time...
Eleanor smiled.
A real smile.
Not the smile of a powerful businesswoman.
The smile of a mother.
Suddenly...
Alexander entered.
His expression was serious.
“We found something.”
They followed him to the study.
Daniel was standing beside a large screen.
“We traced Noah's records.”
Everyone gathered.
“Where is he?”
Daniel looked at the information.
Then stopped.
His face changed.
“What?”
Daniel turned.
“He was never missing.”
Everyone froze.
“What do you mean?”
Daniel pointed at the screen.
“Noah Whitmore has lived his entire life under another name.”
Isabella stepped closer.
“Who?”
Daniel hesitated.
Then revealed the answer.
“Theodore Vale.”
Silence.
Nobody understood.
“Theodore Vale?”
Alexander repeated.
Daniel nodded.
“The adopted son of Adrian Vale.”
Eleanor stepped back.
“No.”
Daniel looked at her.
“Yes.”
The impossible truth appeared.
Adrian Vale's adopted son.
The man Charlotte married.
The man helping her destroy the Whitmore family.
Was connected to them.
He was Noah.
The second heir.
Isabella looked at the documents.
“So Charlotte knew.”
Daniel nodded.
“She has known for years.”
Thomas looked confused.
“But why would she hide Noah?”
Margaret answered quietly.
“Because Noah was not just another heir.”
Everyone looked at her.
“He was the one person who could challenge her.”
Alexander stared.
“Challenge her?”
Margaret nodded.
“Because Noah was not supposed to inherit after Lily.”
A pause.
“He was supposed to protect her.”
The room went silent.
Isabella looked at the jade pendant.
“What does that mean?”
Margaret looked at her.
“The Whitmore family had an old tradition.”
“Which was?”
“If something happened to the first heir...”
She paused.
“The second heir would be responsible for bringing the truth back.”
Suddenly...
A message appeared on Daniel's computer.
Everyone turned.
A video file.
No sender.
No information.
Only a title.
"For Lily."
Daniel opened it.
The screen showed a young man.
Around thirty years old.
His face was serious.
His eyes looked strangely familiar.
Isabella felt something immediately.
A connection.
The man looked directly into the camera.
“If you are watching this...”
He paused.
“Then Charlotte has failed.”
Everyone froze.
The man continued.
“My name is Noah Whitmore.”
Eleanor covered her mouth.
Because after thirty years...
She was looking at another lost child.
Noah continued.
“I know Lily is alive.”
Isabella stepped closer.
“How?”
The recording continued.
“Because I was there the night she disappeared.”
Everyone froze.
Noah looked into the camera.
“And I know who really took her.”
A pause.
“The person you are searching for...”
His eyes became serious.
“Is not Charlotte.”
The screen flickered.
Then one final sentence appeared.
"Your enemy has been beside you since the beginning."
The video ended.
Nobody spoke.
Because once again...
The truth had changed.
Charlotte was not the final answer.
Theodore was not the final answer.
Victoria was not the final answer.
Someone else was behind everything.
Someone closer.
Someone they trusted.
Eleanor whispered:
“No...”
Her face became pale.
Because she remembered something.
A person who had been there every single time.
A person who knew every secret.
A person who had never been suspected.
Isabella looked at her.
“Who?”
Eleanor slowly answered.
“The only person who knew where every Whitmore secret was buried.”
A pause.
May you like
“My father’s closest friend.”
