Chapter 10: Ryan’s Final Weapon

Chapter 10: Ryan’s Final Weapon

Every television in America was broadcasting Ryan Whitmore’s face.

The man who had built an empire.

The man who had fallen overnight.

The public expected an apology.

A confession.

A desperate attempt to save himself.

Instead, Ryan appeared calm.

Confident.

Almost victorious.

“I know there have been many accusations against me,” Ryan said.

“But today, I’m going to reveal the truth.”

Leah watched from the Carter estate.

She knew that tone.

Ryan was preparing an attack.

Not a defense.

The reporter asked:

“Mr. Whitmore, are you saying Leah Carter framed you?”

Ryan looked directly into the camera.

“I’m saying Leah Carter is not who everyone thinks she is.”

Leah’s expression changed.

Ethan immediately stood.

“He’s lying.”

But Leah remained silent.

Because she knew Ryan.

He never attacked without preparation.

“She has hidden her identity for years,” Ryan continued.

“She manipulated everyone around her.”

The reporter frowned.

“Are you claiming Mrs. Carter committed fraud?”

Ryan smiled.

“No.”

A pause.

“I’m claiming Leah Carter is the daughter of the man who destroyed my family.”

The room went silent.

Leah felt her heart stop.

“What?”

Ryan continued.

“Her father wasn’t a victim.”

“He was responsible for crimes that ruined thousands of lives.”

Ethan stepped toward the television.

“He’s twisting the truth.”

But Leah couldn’t look away.

Because Ryan showed a document.

A document with her father’s name.

And a signature.

Her father’s signature.

“This proves Michael Carter was involved.”

Millions of people watched.

And suddenly, Leah wasn’t the victim anymore.

She was becoming the accused.

Her phone exploded with messages.

Reporters.

Lawyers.

Investors.

People demanding answers.

Ryan had changed the battlefield.

He was no longer fighting over money.

He was fighting over reputation.

Evelyn looked terrified.

“This is what he wanted.”

Leah turned.

“What?”

“To make the world doubt you.”

Ryan smiled on television.

“Leah Carter has spent years pretending to be innocent.”

He paused.

“But I have proof.”

Then the screen changed.

A photograph appeared.

A young Leah standing beside her father.

And beside them…

Robert Whitmore.

The entire world watched.

Ryan delivered his final sentence.

“The Carter family and the Whitmore family were connected long before anyone knew.”

Leah stared at the screen.

Because Ryan was right about one thing.

Their families were connected.

But not in the way he wanted people to believe.

And now Leah had to uncover the final secret.

Why had her father and Robert Whitmore been working together?

May you like

And why had everyone lied about it?

The answer would change everything.
