Midnight brought a freezing drizzle. The shipping yards were a labyrinth of towering steel containers. In the center clearing, Alejandro Valdés stood in a tailored trench coat, flanked by a dozen heavily armed mercenaries. Next to him, Elena was bound to a chair, weeping silently.
Rosa stepped out from the shadows of a container, holding the manila envelope high. She was alone.
"Bring it here, Rosa," Alejandro called out, his voice dripping with venom. "Hand over the forged lies, and I will let the woman live."

"We both know that's a lie," Rosa shouted back, standing her ground. "You kill everything that threatens your power."
"Then you leave me no choice," Alejandro sighed, raising his hand to signal his men. But before a single shot could be fired, the containers around them plunged into pitch darkness. Daniel had cut the main power grid.
