Regina didn’t yell. Yelling was for the weak. Instead, she stepped forward, her heels clicking against the marble floor with the rhythmic finality of a metronome. The surrounding crew backed away, instinctively creating a wide circle of execution.
"Do you know what this is?" Regina’s voice was a soft, venomous purr that carried flawlessly across the sudden dead silence of the room.
"Ms. Blake, I—I tripped, the cable—" Maya stammered, tears already spilling over her flushed cheeks.
"This," Regina interrupted, holding up the torn silk with a gloved hand, "is the culmination of eight thousand hours of labor. It is a masterpiece. And you, a clumsy, insignificant child, have destroyed it."

Regina didn't stop there. She signaled for the backstage curtain to be drawn open, exposing the weeping assistant to the VIP holding area, populated by industry titans, rival CEOs, and ravenous fashion journalists.
"Look at her," Regina commanded the crowd, her voice amplified by the room's acoustics. "This is the epitome of modern incompetence. A girl who couldn't be trusted to hold a coat, let alone history." She turned back to Maya, her eyes blazing with sadistic triumph. "You are not just fired. You are erased. You will never work in this city, in this industry, or in any space that I occupy. Get out of my sight."
