Vanessa's new defense team attacked everything.
The interview.
The photographs.
The server thumbnail.
The phone records.
Even Khloe's memory.
They argued that traumatic brain injury made her unreliable.
They suggested Khloe had stepped backward during an argument.
They described Vanessa's hands against Khloe's body as an instinctive attempt to stop her from falling.
For the first time, public opinion divided.
Television commentators debated the case.
Anonymous sources leaked photographs of Khloe attending a fundraiser months earlier while drinking champagne.
The photograph had been taken before her pregnancy.
That detail disappeared from several social media posts.
Then private medical information leaked.
Khloe's previous miscarriage.
Therapy records.
Notes describing anxiety after fertility treatment.
Someone was trying to paint her as unstable.
Harrison knew exactly where the records had originated.
Richard.
During the marriage, he had access to their insurance portal.
Harrison filed emergency motions to seal additional material.
But the damage spread.
Khloe stopped reading the news.
Then came a victory.
Federal prosecutors charged Richard and Marcus with wire fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy, obstruction, and money laundering.
The board removed Richard permanently.
Banks froze the offshore accounts.

Harrison's team celebrated.
Khloe did not.
"What am I missing?"
She asked him.
Harrison looked at her.
"Why do you think you're missing something?"
"Because Richard looks scared."
"Marcus looks angry."
"But Vanessa looks calm."
Harrison understood.
Vanessa had something.
The next morning, they learned what.
A second witness came forward.
A courthouse attorney named Brian Lyle claimed Khloe had slapped Vanessa moments before the fall.
If believed, the testimony could support Vanessa's claim of a chaotic physical confrontation.
Ruiz interviewed him.
He seemed confident.
He remembered clothing.
Time.
Words.
Everything.
Too much.
Harrison reviewed photographs from the courthouse that morning.
Then he smiled.
"What?"
Ruiz asked.
"Brian Lyle says he watched the confrontation from beside the east entrance."
"Yes."
Harrison placed a photograph on the table.
"The east entrance was closed for construction."
Ruiz stared at it.
Harrison continued.
"And Lyle appears in another security camera."
"Where?"
"Inside courtroom four."
"At 9:42 a.m."
Vanessa's new witness had lied.
The question was why.
The answer arrived that evening.
Brian Lyle had received a payment from an account controlled by Daniel Mercer.
But Daniel was already in custody.
