Chapter 4 - The Digital Witness. The security guards moved in fast, their heavy hands clamping down firmly on Emily’s fragile shoulders.

She sobbed openly now, pleading her innocence to a room full of people who had already convicted her.
Vanessa stood tall, a smug, satisfied smirk playing at the corners of her dark red lips.
She told Daniel they needed to call the police immediately and have the maid locked away for decades.
Daniel did not pull out his phone.
Instead, he stared at the diamond necklace, a deep frown carving lines into his handsome face.
He raised a hand, signaling the guards to halt their aggressive apprehension of the weeping girl.
He calmly stated that in a house outfitted with military-grade surveillance, they did not need to guess what had happened.
Daniel turned to the head of security and ordered him to project the foyer’s camera feed onto the main presentation screen.
Vanessa’s smug smile faltered instantly.
She opened her mouth to protest, claiming it was a waste of time since the evidence was right there in the bag.
Daniel ignored her entirely, his eyes locked onto the massive screen lowering from the ceiling.
The guests waited in absolute, breathless silence.
Then the security footage appeared on the glowing monitor.
It was a black-and-white overhead video.
A blinking red timestamp sat neatly in the bottom right corner of the frame.
The camera provided a crystal-clear view of the reception desk from just twenty minutes prior.
The video showed Vanessa standing right beside Emily’s open purse, glancing nervously over her shoulder.
In her hands, she was holding that exact same diamond statement necklace.

Moments later, the screen showed her slipping the heavy jewelry inside the brown leather bag.
The footage clearly proved that Emily had never even touched it.
