Chapter 4: The Citadel Crumbles

Chapter 4: The Citadel Crumbles
By midnight, the sprawling Ibarra family estate in Las Lomas was surrounded by an eerie, heavy silence instead of the usual hum of luxury, high society, and unearned privilege.
Alonso burst through the heavy mahogany front doors, breathless, disheveled, and entirely frantic. He slammed his custom laptop onto the marble foyer table and hammered violently at the mechanical keyboard. Nothing worked. The corporate accounts weren't just temporarily frozen; they had been seized under federal anti-money laundering statutes, completely stripping the family of liquid assets overnight.
His phone rang, cutting through the silence like a knife. It was the head of legal counsel for Ibarra Enterprises, a man who usually spoke with unshakable arrogance.
"Alonso, where the hell are you?" the lawyer barked, panic completely overriding professional decorum. "The federal attorney general's office just executed search warrants on all three of our primary logistics warehouses. The tax authority has impounded our entire inventory. We are completely locked out of the corporate systems."
"Fix it!" Alonso screamed into the receiver, slamming his fist against the marble table. "Use the reserve funds!"

"What reserve funds, Alonso? Every single peso is gone. Someone submitted a complete, unassailable forensic dossier with your digital signature, timestamped and verified down to the millisecond. We're ruined."
The line went dead with a sharp click. Alonso stared down at the blank screen in absolute horror, the walls of his gilded world finally caving in on top of him.
