Chapter 5 - The Masterstroke

The bright morning immediately following the dramatic gala, the global financial news networks were completely dominated by one single name.

Elena Sinclair had instantly become a terrifying, viral global sensation entirely overnight.

She sat quietly at her massive, antique oak desk, carefully reviewing the incredibly dense final legal contracts that would permanently solidify her absolute victory.

Victoria’s corrupt branch of the massive family had been secretly drowning in massive, hidden debts, a vital fact Elena had carefully tracked for years.

By legally calling in all of those heavy debts simultaneously, Elena had brilliantly orchestrated their complete and total financial ruin.

Julian quietly entered the sunny office, carefully carrying a heavy silver tray loaded with fresh, hot coffee and a sleek digital tablet.

"It is officially done," he announced.

"Victoria's sprawling, multi-million dollar estate in the Hamptons was just aggressively foreclosed on by our ruthless banking division," he confirmed.

Elena smoothly signed the final heavy legal document with a quick, highly decisive stroke of her expensive gold fountain pen.

"What exactly happened to her remaining controlling shares in the subsidiary medical tech firms?" Elena asked.

"They were completely liquidated this morning and smoothly absorbed directly into your massive personal holding company," Julian answered.

Elena slowly leaned back in her comfortable leather chair, taking a very deep, satisfying breath of the sweet air of absolute victory.

The incredibly arrogant woman who had violently ordered her to wipe the lobby floor just days ago was now completely and utterly penniless.

"Make absolutely sure she is generously offered a minimum-wage job working in the dirty mailroom of our absolute lowest-performing shipping warehouse," Elena ordered.

"I strongly believe in generously giving terrible people a fair chance to painfully work their way up from the absolute bottom," she added.

Julian chuckled softly, carefully setting the hot coffee down on her pristine, organized desk.

"That is remarkably, overly generous of you, Chairman," he noted.

Elena looked thoughtfully out the massive window at the bustling, busy city directly below her, knowing her vast empire was finally totally secure.

She had successfully avenged her late grandfather, forcefully purged the deep rot from her beloved company, and publicly proven her undeniable, terrifying strength.

However, her encrypted mobile phone suddenly buzzed aggressively with a highly secured message originating from a completely unknown international number.

"The game is absolutely not over yet, little bird," the ominous message read.

Elena’s sharp eyes narrowed dangerously as she intensely stared at the brightly glowing digital screen.

She silently handed the vibrating phone to Julian, whose previously relaxed smile instantly and completely vanished.

"It highly seems we have a dangerous new player entering the board," Elena said.

"Prepare the private corporate jet immediately; we are going to Europe," she commanded.
