The Swiss Alps were beautiful and cold, a stark contrast to the violence we brought with us. The broker, a slick financier named Aris Thorne, operated out of an impenetrable chateau overlooking Lake Geneva. It was a fortress, but Vanguard didn't knock on front doors.
We hit the chateau at 0300 hours. I watched from the command vehicle as our operatives disabled the security grid, breached the perimeter, and neutralized Thorne's guards with surgical precision. Within ten minutes, a terrified Thorne was dragged out of his bed and thrown into the back of our van.
"I don't know anything!" Thorne screamed, his silk pajamas soaked in sweat.

I leaned forward, stepping out of the shadows of the van. I let him see my face. "You took a three-hundred-million-dollar contract from Nathan Ashford. I want the decryption keys to his shadow wallet. Now."
When he hesitated, Vance unholstered his sidearm. Thorne broke immediately, handing over the biometric drives that held the keys to Nathan's war chest. We didn't just drain the account; we traced the money back to its source.
