Margaret placed the flash drive on the table.
Ethan looked at it.
“What is inside?”
“Everything.”
Daniel connected it to a laptop.
Financial records appeared.
Names.
Payments.
Shell companies.
Secret accounts.
Victor had been moving money for years.
But one folder was different.
It was labeled Lily.
Ethan opened it.
Inside were photographs of Lily from different ages.
School.
Birthday parties.
Family trips.
Hannah's blood ran cold.
“He has been watching her.”
Margaret nodded.
“For years.”
Emma covered her mouth.
Claire opened another file.
It contained medical records.
School records.
Addresses.
Everything.
Victor had known where Lily lived.
The entire time.
Ethan looked at Hannah.
“You kept her safe without knowing how close he was.”
Hannah shook her head.
“I knew someone was watching.”
Daniel looked at the screen.
“There is more.”
A video opened.
Victor was speaking directly into the camera.
“You are probably wondering why Lily matters.”
He explained the trust.
Then he revealed something worse.
The trust was not created by Daniel.
It was created by Emma.
Emma stared at the screen.
“I never signed that.”
Victor smiled in the recording.
“You did.”
A document appeared.
Emma's signature.
She looked shocked.
“That is forged.”
Daniel nodded.
“They used it to manipulate the trust.”
Claire asked.
“Who forged it?”
Margaret looked at the screen.
The answer was obvious.
The family lawyer.
He had been involved from the beginning.
Then Victor's video continued.
“The lawyer has one final job.”
Ethan leaned closer.
“To destroy the original trust document.”
The screen went black.
At that exact moment, Ethan received a message.
The lawyer had been spotted at the courthouse.
He was carrying a briefcase.
Inside that briefcase was the original trust.
Ethan stood.
“We have to stop him.”
