She had met Emma years before Lily was born.
They had worked together.
Emma trusted her.
When Victor discovered Emma's investigation, Hannah helped her escape.
She was there when Lily was born.
She promised Emma she would protect the baby.
“I thought I could keep Lily safe forever.”
Ethan looked at her.
“You did.”
Hannah shook her head.
“No.”
She looked toward Lily.
“I kept her alive.”
Emma took her hand.
“You gave her a childhood.”
Hannah began crying.
Claire watched silently.
The family had spent years blaming one another.
But Hannah had carried the heaviest secret alone.
Daniel stepped forward.
“I owe you more than anyone.”
Hannah looked at him.
“You owe Lily the truth.”
Daniel nodded.
“We will give it to her.”
Lily approached.
“Why are you crying?”
Hannah knelt.
“Because sometimes people cry when they are relieved.”
Lily smiled.
“Are we safe?”
Emma hugged her.
“Yes.”
But Ethan's phone rang.
Victor.
Ethan answered.
Victor's voice sounded calm.
“You found the trust.”
Ethan said nothing.
Victor continued.
“Good.”
“Where are you?”
“Somewhere you will never find me.”
Ethan's jaw tightened.
Victor laughed.
“You think the trust matters.”
“What do you want?”
“I want the journal.”
“You can't have it.”
Victor paused.
“Then your mother dies.”
The call ended.
Margaret looked at Ethan.
“Don't give him anything.”
Ethan's face tightened.
Daniel understood.
“We need to find her.”
Claire checked the security footage.
Margaret had been taken from the safe house.
Victor had planned ahead.
Hannah looked at the journal.
The final pages contained a location.
An old Christmas lodge.
Daniel recognized it.
“That's where Victor keeps his private records.”
