Chapter 5 - The Fall of the House of Sterling
The mansion erupted into absolute chaos as Detective Vance secured the silver flash drive in an evidence bag.
"Arthur Sterling, you are also coming with us for questioning regarding corporate fraud and tax evasion," Vance announced loudly over the screaming.
"This is an outrage, I want my lawyers on the phone right this second!" Arthur bellowed, though his voice shook with undeniable fear.
Chloe was dragged out the front doors in her ruined green dress, crying hysterically as the harsh red and blue police lights illuminated her disgrace.
Neighbors from the surrounding mansions had already gathered on their manicured lawns, recording the spectacle with their smartphones.
The Sterling family's carefully crafted illusion of perfection was burning to the ground in real-time.
As the paramedics finally began wheeling Emma toward the exit, Eleanor fell to her knees on the blood-stained marble floor.
The proud matriarch buried her face in her hands, weeping bitterly as her empire collapsed around her.
Julian stood completely alone in the center of the foyer, watching his wife leave him forever.
He made no move to stop her this time, knowing that he had lost any right to call himself a husband or a father.
As the stretcher rolled out into the cool night air, Emma looked up at the vast, starry sky.
Her body ached terribly, and the road to recovery would be long and difficult, but her spirit had never felt lighter.
Detective Vance walked beside her until they reached the back of the waiting ambulance.
"You did good tonight, Emma," Vance said quietly, offering her a respectful nod of admiration.
"We have enough evidence to put them away for a very long time, and you will never have to see them again."
"Thank you, Detective, for believing me when no one else would," Emma replied softly as the medics secured her inside the vehicle.
The ambulance doors closed, shutting out the sight of the Sterling mansion and the chaotic ruins of her past life.

As the vehicle sped off toward the hospital, Emma rested her hand gently on her stomach.
She closed her eyes, ready to finally begin a brand new chapter, completely free from the shadows of the past.
