Two Years Later.
The estate kitchen was flooded with morning sunlight.
Seraphina Vale stood at the marble island, sipping espresso. She wore a tailored black suit that mirrored her husband’s. A heavy diamond rested on her left ring finger.
The door clicked open. Ronan stepped in, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind, burying his face in her neck.
"The waterfront properties are secured," he murmured. "The council wants a meeting tomorrow."
"Let them wait until Tuesday," Seraphina replied smoothly, leaning into his touch. "We have a dinner reservation tonight, and I don't intend to miss it."
