The rain began to fall in sheets as Elara stood on the roof of the adjacent skyscraper, staring across the 150-foot gap at the Sterling Tower. The penthouse glowed like a beacon.
She fired a pneumatic grappling hook. The titanium barb shattered the reinforced glass of a lower floor and anchored firmly into the steel framing. Without hesitating, Elara hooked her harness to the zipline and stepped off the ledge.

The wind tore at her as she plummeted across the urban abyss, the dizzying drop of fifty stories below her. She hit the glass window of Sterling's server room feet first, shattering it inward. She rolled across the carpeted floor, instantly unhooking her harness and bringing her weapon up.
The server room was the brain of the Sterling Empire. To destroy Arthur, she didn't just need to kill him. She needed to expose him to the world.
