"You," Victoria snapped, her voice cutting through the soft hum of the string quartet playing in the corner.
The young waitress stopped dead in her tracks. Her nametag read Elara. She kept her eyes lowered, submissive, exactly as she had been trained. "Yes, Mrs. Sterling?"
"You're shaking," Victoria hissed, stepping closer. The smell of Victoria's overpowering Tom Ford perfume made the air suffocating. "Are you intoxicated, or simply too stupid to hold a tray?"
"I apologize, ma'am. It's just heavy," Elara whispered.
Victoria’s lips curled into a sneer of pure contempt. She wanted to destroy this girl. She wanted the room to watch her flex the absolute power she wielded. "Pathetic," Victoria spat.

With a sudden, vicious thrust of her manicured hand, Victoria shoved the girl's shoulder. She expected Elara to stumble, burst into tears, and flee toward the servant corridors in utter humiliation.
But Elara didn’t fall. Only the tray did.
