Chapter 9: Blood on the Tracks
The flashbang detonated with a blinding flash and a concussive wave that threw three mercenaries to the ground.
Before the ringing in their ears could subside, Elara dropped from the rusted ventilation shaft above. She moved like liquid shadow. A ceramic blade flashed in the dim light, finding the gap in the first mercenary's armor. He dropped instantly.
She drew a Glock 19, pivoting gracefully, and put two suppressed rounds into the chest of the second man. The remaining guards opened fire, their bullets sparking off the steel pillars and tearing through concrete. Elara rolled behind a defunct train car, returning fire.

Grigori roared, stepping into the open and laying down heavy suppressing fire with an LMG. Elara didn't panic. She pulled a customized EMP grenade from her belt and lobbed it over the train car.
The pulse killed their night vision and comms. In the ensuing darkness, Elara slipped away, leaving four dead men and a furious Russian bleeding on the tracks.
